Botanic Garden: wildlife refuge
In times of global warming, desertification, and high environmental pollution, the Montaña de Luz project emerges as a lighthouse, a guide on the way: a forestation and reforestation proposal of approximately 40 hectares.
The organic cultivation in 13 of them, distributed in beautiful theme gardens, as well as horticultural and fruit gardens, makes us a community respectful to the "Pachamama", with friendly farming and production with the environment, basing on responsible sustainability.
Our landscaping proposal includes more than 570 bougainvilleas or summer trees of different colors, more than 350 araucarias, 340 jacarandas, 300 wax palms, 220 arupos, 120 candle cypresses, 85 callistemos, 50 ceibos, 50 tulips.
In the fruit area, as the ones that stand out are 700 lemon trees, 685 tangerine trees, 550 avocado trees, 520 custard apple trees, 410 orange trees, 350 coffee trees, 18 olive trees, among others.
We are home to more than a thousand orchids, housed in a space in which an original bamboo pool was built, which spreads water from above, in order to maintain the humidity they require for their proper development.
The 27 unfarmed hectares are enriched secondary woods. This is, spaces where the flora, typical the place, forges its way. This zone has enriched with important varieties such as 150 molles, 50 plum trees, 50 tulips, 35 walnut trees, 25 black cherry trees, among others.
This exuberance in flora has contributed to the fauna of Montana de Luz to recover and enrich. The variety of birds -where the hummingbirds stand out-, as well as frogs, hares or wild bunnies delight with their fly, or slow and deliberate walk.
All of this makes Montana de Luz a place to meet, of harmonious cohabitation, of peace, and extraordinary beauty.
